About the event
Through the rhythmic prose and enchanting illustrations of her book, children will learn about the importance of unity, community, our matriarchs, and the drum. Following the reading, participants will engage in a hands-on activity where we learn a drum song together and all participants will be gifted a moose hide pin to show their commitment to being a safe person.
The Moose Hide Campaign is a grassroots movement aimed at ending gender-based violence on Turtle Island. Willie Poll is both the author of “Together we drum, our hearts beat as one” and the director of education for the Moose Hide Campaign.
